Some accessories are model-specific, while others can be shared between HILO and HILO Plus:

Fabric Sleeves: Each model has its own sleeve. A HILO sleeve will only fit a HILO device, and the same goes for HILO Plus.

HILO Plus–only accessories: The EasySwitch™ replacement pen and charging dock are designed specifically for HILO Plus.

Shared accessories: The stick remover and USB-C charging cable can be used with both devices.

There is no charging dock for HILO device, it is charged via a USB-C cable.

There is a charging dock accessory available for the HILO Plus device that can be used to charge the EasySwitch™ heating pen to enable 2 sessions in 7 minutes. To charge the HILO Plus charger pack itself, please use a USB-C cable.

Yes, you can get a replacement EasySwitch™ heating pen from our accessories range, without having to buy a whole new HILO Plus device.

The stick bin provides an easy and attractive option for conveniently placing your used sticks.

The stick bin features a sleek and minimal design complimenting the Hilo device design. It has also been designed to fit in drink holders in cars. The bin closure has been engineered to reduce odour leakage.

The overall size of the stick bin was designed to hold about 20 used virto™ and rivo™ sticks. However, it will fit even more used sticks by shaking the bin or by pressing firmly down on the existing sticks in the bin. Please dispose of stick bin contents responsibly.

Yes, there are premium fabric sleeves that can be used to customize the look of your device and protect the exterior of your HILO device.

Battery / Charging HILO / HILO Plus

Yes, you can use the device while it’s charging, as long as it has enough charge to start a session. Note that charging will pause during the session and resume when it ends. This helps protect the battery from damage.

Yes, you can use the EasySwitch™ Pen while charging it. However, it will pause charging while you use it and will automatically resume charging when you are finished using it.

HILO Plus can be fully charged in only 90 minutes* delivering 20 sessions of taste satisfaction in Standard mode**.

myglo™ App

When a firmware update is available, you’ll see a notification on the main screen of the myglo™ App.

You can also check manually by going to Manage Devices in the app and selecting your device. If the Device Settings screen shows “Update Available,” simply follow the on-screen instructions to begin the update.

To complete the update, all you need is your smartphone, your HILO device, and an internet connection.
Note: The myglo™ App is required to update the device firmware.

When a firmware update is available, you’ll see a notification on the main screen of the myglo™ App.

You then just need to follow the step-by-step instructions to complete the update. All you need is the myglo™ App, an internet connection, your HILO / HILO Plus device, and a few minutes. The update can only be done through the app.

When a firmware update is available, first make sure the EasySwitch™ pen is inside the HILO Plus charging pack for the the update. Removing the pen could interrupt the process and potentially cause damage to the device firmware.

Then just follow the step-by-step instructions on the myglo™ App for completing the firmware update. All you need is the myglo™ App, an internet connection and your HILO Plus device.
Please note that the update can only be done through the myglo™ App.

Yes, always keep the EasySwitch™ pen in the charger pack during the update. Removing it may cause the update to fail and could potentially damage to the device firmware.

No, smart watches are currently not supported with the myglo™ App or with HILO devices.

virto™ / rivo™ sticks

You can dispose your used sticks in the stick bin from our accessories range. Please dispose of stick bin contents responsibly.
Otherwise, you can also responsibly dispose of your used sticks in an appropriate receptacle.

Each pack of virto™ and rivo™ contains 20 sticks.

Store virto™ and rivo™ sticks in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve freshness and quality.

HILO and HILO Plus are only compatible with virto™ and rivo™ sticks for glo™. HILOis not designed for usage with neo or any other sticks outside of virto™ and rivo™ sticks. Consumers should avoid inserting any objects into the device stick chamber outside of the approved glo virto™ sticks and the glo™ Stick Remover tool, as this may cause potential damage to the TurboStart™ Quartz.

The flavours generated from virto™ and rivo™ capsules come from flavouring compounds added in the capsule. These compounds undergo a robust assessment by our scientists before they are approved for use in our products.

General HILO / HILO Plus

HILO and HILO Plus both offer a premium heated tobacco experience with dual-heating technology. HILO Plus notably includes the EasySwitch™ heating pen which can be used on its own or with the charger pack. It also features a touchscreen interface — ideal for users seeking more control between charges.

HILO Plus features a more intuitive interface thanks to its touchscreen technology, and it also includes the EasySwitch™ heating pen. Both HILO and HILO Plus have the same advanced dual-heating technology.

For a more intense session, choose Boost mode. For a longer and smooth session, choose Standard Mode. HILO provides a significant increase in overall taste intensity compared to Hyper Pro, as well as longer standard and boost sessions (14.8% longer and 38.9% longer respectively). You can also adjust the the length of your Standard Mode sessions in the myglo™ App.

The HILO Plus device is slim, modern, and built for comfort, offering a satisfying user experience and enough sessions for a full day’s use*. The design is not intended to resemble any other heating product devices and includes several distinctive features that set it apart, featuring the EasyView™ screen, Standard & Boost modes, and app connectivity.

If you insert the stick upside down, you will feel more resistance than normal. If you notice this difficulty in insertion, always visually check that the stick is the correct way up. The mouth end filter must always face upwards - the mouth end filter is easily recognizable with the coloured artwork printed on it. The tobacco end of the rod goes into the device - this has no print on it (white paper wrap). The stick must be inserted tobacco end down. When inserted correctly, the colour artwork printed part of the stick will be visible.

If you insert a stick upside down and start a session, you will notice a bad smell and taste. It is unlikely that the device will continue to function normally after heating an upside down stick, because filter material will melt inside the device and could prevent the next stick from being fully inserted.

We recommend that you replace your device. If you have experienced this problem, you will need to replace your device.

Maintenance HILO / HILO Plus

The HILO and HILO Plus devices are water-resistant and dust-proof and have an Ingress Protection rating of IP54. This means the devices are protected from limited dust ingress and protected from some moisture, such as light rain or drizzle, accidental splash from a drink, or quick wipe with alcohol spray or a damp cloth. Note that the devices are not intended to be fully immersed in water for any period of time, and they are not protected against heavy splashing (e.g. using at the beach or in the shower) and sand exposure without protection

The all-new HILO and HILO Plus are our most advanced devices yet.
They include the heating technology to use a combination of TurboStart™ Quartz and infrared waves. TurboStart™ technology heats 100% of the tobacco. This new technology heats up sticks in just 5 seconds for HILO and less than 10 seconds for HILO Plus and to the highest heating level ever from glo™.

HILO and HILO Plus also use a different stick format from Hyper devices.
virto™ and rivo™ sticks have been exclusively designed for HILO and HILO Plus.

Quartz is the smart heating technology behind both HILO and HILO Plus, chosen for its speed and precision. It transmits infrared heat efficiently—making HILO ready for the first puff in just 5 seconds, and HILO Plus in under 10 seconds. It is also highly heat-resistant and built to last, giving you a reliable experience, session after session

HILO was not only designed with cutting edge technology but also to withstand day to day usage. TurboStart™ heating technology enables both high heat resistance and infrared efficiency. It’s flame-polished for a smooth fit with the stick design and has passed durability tests, including drops on concrete and tumble tests. HILO has also been tested to represent everyday usage with confidence when it comes to stick insertions, heating sessions and stick removals. As with any technology device (such as your phone), HILO devices should be handled with care to ensure the continued performance of the device.

Troubleshooting HILO / HILO Plus

Confirm that you have the latest version of the myglo™ App.
To check that you have the latest version of the app, follow these steps based on

i. iOS: Go to the App Store and search for the Nuviu app and see if there is an “Update” button near the app icon (instead of the regular “Get” button). If so, click on the Update button to update the Nuviu app. The myglo™ App should then update automatically in the background.

ii. Android: Go to the Google Play Store and search for the myglo™ App and see if it has an “Update” button near the app icon (instead of the regular “Get” button). If so, click on Update to update your myglo™ App to the latest version.

iii. If that doesn’t work, you may want to try uninstalling and then reinstalling the myglo™ App.

Confirm that the device firmware has been updated to latest version.
To do so, go to the myglo™ App and check the device settings for your HILO Device. If a firmware update is available, it will say “Update Available” for downloading.

If both the app and firmware are up to date and the app features are still not synching with the device, you may want to try re-paring your phone with the device.

Confirm that Bluetooth™ is turned on for your phone and that you have the latest version of the myglo™ App. You may also try bringing the devices closer together.

For both iOS and Android, follow these steps to unpair your device to be able to re-pair it again:

i. Under Device settings select Remove Device, you will be prompt a message to also remove the device from your Bluetooth settings

ii. Enter Bluetooth Settings, find your Device and:

For Android – Unpair
If you are still unable to pair the app with your device, you may want to try uninstalling and then reinstalling the myglo™ App.

Presence and visibility of condensate (which may appear as brown staining on the stick) is a result of normal usage and is seen across rooibos/tobacco sticks in heating products. This is a common occurrence and is part of the system functionality.

While extracting the stick, the outer wrap and end cap may absorb condensate from the heating chamber.
Please carefully remove the stick and dispose of it responsibly.

To reboot your HILO device:
• Press and hold down either button on the HILO device for 13 seconds until the device screen changes; For HILO Plus, press and hold down the control button for 13 seconds until the screen changes.
• Release the button, and wait for device to reboot in a few seconds.

HILO is a heating device, so its surface can becomes warm during operation, which is normal. The device has been tested for safety and has embedded protection mechanisms to prevent dangerous overheating. If you feel that the surface temperature has become painfully hot, stop using the device and allow the device time to cool down. Please refrain from using the device outside it’s recommended ambient temperature range (0 - 40C), as it may cause irreversible damage to the device and its battery.

To begin with, we encourage you to brush your glo™ device with every pack. But even if that doesn’t happen, don’t worry! Sometimes our devices may be exposed to increased heat, humidity, and strain. That’s why every device comes with a 24 month warranty. No matter what’s happened to it during that time, your glo™ care team has got your back. Simply start a chat with us anytime, and we will send a replacement to you as soon as possible* with no questions asked! If your device is not working as intended and is outside its warranty, we suggest it may be time to invest in the newest technology at your local retailer or online here.

The Hyper pro+ is a heating device. Its surface gets warm when it's working, which is normal. We rigorously test our devices for safety and build in protection mechanisms to stop dangerous overheating. However, if the surface feels uncomfortably hot, stop using the device immediately and let it cool down.


Your device also has a recommended temperature range: 0°C-40°C. Please don’t use it outside of this range, as it may not work and the battery could be permanently damaged.

With the glo™ Hyper Pro+, caring for the device is easier. To keep it in excellent condition, we recommend using the maintenance accessory each time a relevant notification appears on the Easy View screen. You can find detailed instructions in the user guide, which is included in the device packaging.


Alternatively, follow the steps below for maintaining the device:
1. Allow your device to cool down for 10 minutes after a completed session.
2. Triple click the control button to lock your device.
3. Open the heating chamber using the sliding door and the access door.
4. Insert the maintenance tool provided in the starter kit in both ends and give 3 little twists.
5. Close the sliding door and access door.
6. Triple-click the control button to unlock your device before your next session.

THP come from the phrase Tobacco Heating Product. This technology heats the smoke instead of burning it.

Advanced Heat technology is an exclusive glo™ technology. Unlike traditional cigarettes, in which the smoke burns at 900°, glo™ technology heats the smoke to 260°C in Boost mode and 250°C in Standard mode without leading to combustion*.

Induction heating is a widespread technology in today's kitchens, which has been miniaturized in the glo™ hyper appliance. It works in the following way: a battery charges a coil which creates a magnetic field, causing heat in the metal tube where the neo™ Stick is placed. The metal tube inside the device receives and heats the smoke rod, offering a more intense smoking experience & better performance of the heated smoke with a faster heating time.

No, glo™ produces smoke aerosol.

The glo™ releases smoke aerosol and does not produce smoke.
